05/05/2010

Rizwana Javed, (29) admitted a charge yesterday laid by the Office of the Immigration Services Commissioner (OISC) before the First-Tier Tribunal (Immigration Services).

Javed, who ran Adam Riz Immigration Chambers in Edgware, London, admitted to advising a client on how to abuse immigration procedures.

Javed, a non-practicing barrister, is now indefinitely prohibited from providing immigration advice and services.

Speaking about the decision, Immigration Services Commissioner Suzanne McCarthy said,  The OISC is committed to the elimination of unscrupulous advisers. Breach of our Code of Standards can lead, as in this case, to advisers being banned from providing immigration advice or services.
