Continuing Professional Development Scheme

for OISC Regulated Advisers

Introduction

The Continuing Professional Development (CPD) scheme has been introduced by the OISC to encourage and assist advisers in undertaking continuous learning in order that they are best able to assist their clients.

Non-compliance with this requirement is a breach of Code 23 of the Commissioners Code of Standards and will affect your continued regulation with the Commissioner.

Please be aware that the CPD scheme does not replace competence assessment. You will only be able to change your level of competence or widen your categories of service if you are judged competent to do so by the OISC and not through the CPD scheme.

This site contains guidance notes and useful information on the scheme, which I encourage you to read so that you are aware of how you must comply.

You are provided with your own personal CPD on-line portfolio that will enable you to record details of your CPD activity throughout the year. It will also give you access to the OISC e-learning courses as well as a number of Open University personal development and management courses.  Please be aware that the OISC has access to this portfolio for monitoring purposes.

You can log into your CPD portfolio via the link provided and if you have any questions or queries regarding CPD, please email them to cpd@oisc.gov.uk
