Qualifications and LSC accreditation
What qualifications must I have?
Applicants will need to satisfy the OISC that they have the knowledge and skills to practise competently at the level at which they have applied.
They do not need any specific qualification to apply for registration. However, competence and fitness will be thoroughly assessed approval.
Applicants will need to satisfy the OISC that they have in place the resources, management structures and procedures needed to run the organisation in accordance with the Commissioner's Rules and Code of Standards.
Legal Services Commission(LSC) accreditation
Prospective advisers who have successfully completed LSC accreditations are exempt from sitting the corresponding level Office of the Immigration Services Commissioner (OISC) competence assessment, as detailed below:
- OISC Level 1 Assessment > LSC Level 1 Accredited Caseworker
- OISC Level 2 Assessment > LSC Level 1 Accredited Caseworker
- OISC Level 3 Assessment > LSC Level 2 Senior Caseworker
The relevant certificate must be enclosed with your application for registration.
One certificate for each accredited adviser needs to be submitted - i.e. if only one applicant has LSC accreditation, the others need to sit the OISC assessment.
